Physician statement to patients regarding the decision to choose Direct Primary Care
After over a decade of practicing medicine, I have grown increasingly frustrated with our healthcare system. It fails to prioritize health, wellness, the doctor-patient relationship, and access to trusted care. Instead, it focuses on numbers, prescriptions, referrals, and excessive administrative tasks, causing us to lose sight of the humanity in healthcare.
I don’t want to participate in a system where an invisible shot clock dictates my interactions with patients. While I do my best to avoid this constraint, it remains a challenge. I aspire to practice in a way that fosters a collaborative relationship with my patients, allowing us to work together to maintain their health and wellness to the best of our abilities.
Direct Primary Care (DPC) is the solution. Under the DPC model, I will be able to spend more time with you, when you need me, and we will be able to discuss a plan of action together. Patient care has always been my primary focus and the DPC model will allow me to provide this type of quality care for my patients moving forward.
I look forward to seeing you in the office!

Always keeping in mind the 'body functions as a unit' Dr. Trister applies osteopathic principles and and a functional approach in her day-to-day practice in both primary care and non surgical orthopedics.
WHAT IS DIRECT PRIMARY CARE?
Direct Primary Care (DPC) is a practice model that allows patients to pay their primary care provider directly, instead of going through an insurance provider. DPC practices charge a low membership fee each month, and patients receive a range of primary care services in exchange.
DPC can offer benefits such as better health outcomes, lower costs, and more streamlined access to your doctor due to the limited number of patients they elect to treat on their patient panel.

What are the benefits of DPC (Direct Primary Care) for patients:
Many Primary Care Providers are retiring or have recently retired which has left numerous patients without a PCP. Finding a PCP is difficult enough, but getting an appointment is even more challenging as many PCP’s are booking out 4, 5 and 6 months for a routine office visit. Many PCP’s are not accepting new patients. So when you need an urgent appointment the same day or the next day, you are likely advised to go to Urgent Care or the ER where you will spend the better part of your day waiting to be seen.
This is not good patient care.
Our goal at TriStar is to reduce our patient panel size, which will allow Dr Diana to offer the best care to her patients by being available when you need her most and providing every patient with enough time to address all their concerns.

PROLOTHERAPY/NEURAL PROLOTHERAPY
Prolotherapy is an example of how a physician can facilitate your body's natural healing process. Prolotherapy is an injection technique that is used to treat chronic musculoskeletal injuries. In contrast to conventional cortisone injections, which do provide pain relief, Prolotherapy aims to stimulate your body to rebuild and restore the damaged area. Many conditions including Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (EDS), Connective Tissue Disorder (CTD), chronic and/or recurrent sprains, overuse injuries, whiplash injuries, mid back pain, low back pain, and tendinitis respond well to this treatment.
Prolotherapy provides long-term, often permanent pain relief by stimulating the body’s ability to repair itself. A solution of concentrated dextrose and local anesthetic is injected into the affected ligaments, tendons, and/or joint capsules. This solution acts as a local irritant thereby stimulating the body’s natural ability to repair the affected areas. Prolotherapy is a process and
multiple treatments (usually 3-5 sessions) are standard to restore and strengthen the area. We always keep in mind nutritional and lifestyle status while patients undergo this treatment.
Neural Prolotherapy (NPT) and traditional Prolotherapy share some similarities but have key differences in their approach and application:
-
Solution concentration:
-
Neural Prolotherapy uses a much lower concentration of dextrose, typically 5% dextrose in sterile water (D5W).
-
Traditional Prolotherapy uses a higher concentration of dextrose, usually 15-25%.
-
-
Injection technique:
-
NPT involves multiple shallow injections just beneath the skin along the course of subcutaneous nerves.
-
Traditional Prolotherapy uses deeper injections into ligaments, tendons, and joint spaces.
-
-
Target areas:
-
NPT focuses on treating subcutaneous nerves associated with connective tissues.
-
Traditional Prolotherapy targets ligaments, tendons, and joints directly.
-
-
Mechanism of action:
-
NPT is thought to work by modifying nerve signals and nourishing nerves to reduce neurogenic inflammation and pain.
-
Traditional Prolotherapy aims to stimulate tissue repair and regeneration in ligaments and tendons.
-
-
Pain during treatment:
-
NPT is generally well-tolerated and can often be performed without local anesthetic.
-
Traditional Prolotherapy may be more painful and often requires local anesthetic.
-
-
Treatment frequency:
-
-
NPT typically requires 5-8 treatments spaced 1-2 weeks apart.
-
Traditional Prolotherapy often involves 3-6 treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart.
-
-
Immediate effects:
-
NPT often provides immediate pain relief after the first injection.
-
Traditional Prolotherapy may cause initial soreness before improvement is noticed.
Both treatments aim to promote healing and reduce pain, but NPT is considered less invasive and focuses more on nerve-related pain and inflammation. The choice between the two may depend on the specific condition being treated and the practitioner's expertise.

PRP PLATELET RICH PLASMA THERAPY
Autologous blood injection is a regulatory healing therapy that aims to re-harmonize the body’s inner milieu. Blood carries nutrients, oxygen, enzymes, body exudates, waste products, toxins, and antibodies, and also carries information about every disease the body has experienced.
By injecting autologous blood , we give healing stimulate to the body that makes the body begin to mobilize its immune system cells. It handles the injected blood as an "intruding stimulus” and as a result, intensive stimulation of the body’s immune system is begun and the body’s self-healing capability is activated.
Autologous blood injection increasing the body’s general defensive ability and activating its self-healing capability.
Platelet rich plasma (PRP) is a medical treatment being used for a wide range of musculoskeletal problems. Platelet rich plasma refers to a sample of blood plasma that has as much as eight times more than the normal amount of platelets. This treatment enhances the body’s natural ability to repair itself and is used to improve healing and shorten recovery time from acute and chronic soft tissue and joint injuries.
Many famous athletes — PGA’s Tiger Woods, NBA’s Steph Curry, MLB’s Alex Rodriguez, tennis star Rafael Nadal, and several others — have received PRP for various problems, such as sprained knees and chronic tendon injuries. This treatment technique is relatively new in the field of sports medicine, but has been gaining popularity quickly.
